PV 2010 - Day 4 RAIN...for the first time

Today we experienced a first....RAIN in PV. It started out as a nice day and we were able to get some sun. However, by 1:30 or so a cold breeze started. We played games and still were able to have a good time. By about 3:30 it was raining...not too hard, but enough to send us indoors. Kate also took advantage of the down time and got a massage. She really enjoyed it.

Today the hockey game as on TV. There was a large Canadian group and a large USA group gathered around the TVs at the bar watching the game. Melinda and I watched the OT...too bad USA didn't win, but it was a SILVER medal. GO USA!

Tonight we went to town and had MEAT at Brazils. We are now back and WACKY SIX is in our future.

PS We ran into a lady last night on the bus. She pulled out her Ensign to read and we noticed and so introduced ourselves. We found out today was stake conference and it was going to be too far for us to attend and not understand anything.

PV 2010 - Day 3 Laying in Sun

Today we had a great day relaxing, laying out in the sun and reading. Melinda got a massage and loved it. Melinda and Kate were able to find us good seats....this year you have to be out REALLY early and save a seat...so sad.

Tonight we went in to town and found the German Restaurant...in honor of Corrine and Melinda. We had steak and chicken cordon bleu and some German specialities. It was yummy!

Here they are under the sign. March 4th is Melinda's 10 year anniversary of her return from Germany...she is starting to freak out about it. Guess that means Europe next year!

After dinner we walked to the board walk along the ocean. The waves were really big. There were so many locals out tonight. We have never seen so many out...not a lot of tourists. We have deifnately noticed the decline in tourism this year.

PV 2010 - Day 2 Melinda Joins Us!

Today was a relaxing day. Kate was so excited to get her first "Costa Vida Special" and it lived up to what she expected! Michelle & Rachel...we had one for you too! Kate went out and got our chairs...by 9:30 they were almost all gone! Wow, there are some early risers here! Anyway, as it turned out our chairs were basically in the shade the entire time! Hello!

After Corrine came out we moved to a table and played games...Phase 10 and Rummikub. Corrine is on a roll...she is winning most of them (much to Kate's dismay). I was able to pull off one win...in Rummikub! We ate lunch and finally got the sun while sitting there. All three of us are pink tonight.

At about 2:15 Kate and I took at taxi back to the airport to get Melinda. It was a busy day there but thankfully we made it there before she did. We waited about 30 minutes or so...Custom/Immigration lines were long! We now feel like the party can begin and our group is complete!

We all wanted to make her smile and so we made her this fun little sign. She laughed when she saw it and said, "You remind me of Dad!"

Tonight we went in to town and had our fajitas at Pipi's. This is a favorite place and we go every year. We didn't get there until almost 9:00 and it was great because we missed the crowd. Usually we went up sitting and waiting for about an hour. So, that was great.

Pipi's is also know for their Margaritas. We have never tried one but decided to this year. We had a virgin Strawberry Margarita. It was good, but not as good as the Costa Vida Special we love! We enjoyed dinner and watched some of the Olympics. Too bad Apollo Ohno was DQ'd. So sad!

Now we are home and now we will play some games tonight before bed. Corrine and I got a good laugh. We got all dressed up and put on make up for our BIG HOUR on the town! :)

PV 2010 - Day 1 We have arrived!

Well we have arrived! Great news! Corrine and I arrived about 90 minutes before Kate. We stayed at the airport and waited for her so we could all share the same taxi back. We are excited!

On our way to our place we saw a wonderful sunset. Here is a picture of Kate's skills from the moving van!

Here is the best we could do for a bathroom picture. BTW...this year I had the thought to bring a queen sized blow up mattress for the pullout bed. Kate and I sleep there and it is basically a piece of plywood with a foam cushion. Tonight I got it all blown and WOW I think it is really going to make a difference!

We went to dinner in town. We went to a place we had been two years ago with Ami & Marj. We loved it so much that year we went twice. Unfortuately, it was under different management and it was not quite the same experience...but still good.

As we sat there this cat kept walking around...it was so annoying. How many health code violations would have been violated if we were at home!?

The family sitting next to us celebrated a birthday. We were all sitting there and all of a sudden the lights went out. We sat there for a few minutes and then the employees came over and started singing happy birthday...two funny things happened. One - since no one knew his name we all sang happy birthday 'dear stranger'! It was funny. Then - they brought this cake and check out the serving tool...Kate could not stop laughing...she was crying. It was hilarious to see a spatula being used as a serving utensil.

We are now back home and exhausted! Love to all and enjoy the update...especially you, MOM!

Happy Birthday McKay

Happy Birthday to McKay today! We all went to Topper's pizza for a yummy dinner and then back to their house for cake and ice cream. How creative is Rachel? Check out his pizza cake! Complete with the delivery box and all!
