A Birthday Date with Lori

I have had a fun weekend! Today I went out to Palmdale for Lori's birthday date. Her birthday is December 7th. She wanted to go to Souplantation. It was so much fun to see what she picked to eat. Yes, Michelle, she ate her veggies! She was most excited for the mac n cheese. She thought it was great that I ate it too. Of course, we each had a mini ice cream cone. After lunch we went to Barnes & Noble to pick out a book. Lori wasn't sure where to start. We picked out about 8 books and read each of them before she decided to choose Ballet Kitty. Hopefully she will enjoy her book.

A Birthday Date with Anna

Anna's birthday was November 19th. However, it took us until today to have our birthday date. She had been waiting anxiously. She decided to have lunch at Pick Up Stix. She had the chicken house noodles and I had the beef yakisoba. We had a lot of fun. She is so grown up and we can have a good conversation. After lunch we went to Borders Bookstore to find a new book. It was a touch decision for Anna. There were so many choices! She carefully went through many books before making her selection. I hope she will have fun with it!

Yes, I was awake to welcome in the new year!

Last year I ended up falling asleep before the new year and so this year Corrine and I decided we needed to plan something to keep us awake. We invited a few friends over and had a great time playing games, chatting, laughing, giggling and eating. Rummikub, Phase 10, Skipbo and a game I can't remember - it was like Catch Phrase (Michelle introduced it to us) were very much enjoyed! We even splurged and and put a log on the fire! It was fun to see so I had to take a picture. I took a picture of the group, but I can't find it - sorry! Here's to a wonderful 2009!
